About me
Physical therapy changes lives. Not just the lives of our patients, but the patient can change the lives of their therapist too! When I started in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the College of Staten Island, my number one mission was to make people's lives better, whatever that meant. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, simply put, I fix people. One of my favorite questions is, "have you seen this before?" and while I have seen a wide variety of pathology in my career, the fact that each individual is unique and therein lies the intrigue of being a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Sometimes there is an advantage to seeing a condition before, but that advantage can also cloud our judgement; as no two people are the same, it is impossible for two injuries to be the same. Admittedly, at the beginning of my PT journey I had no idea the full scope of what a PT can do. But with my education and training, I realized not just how a PT can help people, I began to fully appreciate the impact we can have on a person's life. As a former D1 college baseball player, whose playing days ended after a shoulder injury, I understand the demands placed on the human body via sports and exercise. Sometimes I get asked the question "was your shoulder injury preventable"? In short, I'm not sure. But I think the correct answer is probably. I have experienced my share of injuries, both major and minor, allowing me to better connect with injured people - not just athletes - in an attempt to deliver the best rehabilitative care possible. While baseball still remains a passion of mine, I no longer have the time to play competitively. But I still maintain a healthy, active lifestyle. If you are already here, please do not hesitate to connect with me to see how I can help you today.
